About Me
My Philosophy
My training as a therapist began at The University of New Hampshire, where I graduated with my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since graduating, I’ve worked in community mental health, private practice, and hospital settings.
My career began as a therapist and group leader at an Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospitalization program focused on helping people manage depression, anxiety and substance use. My next role was at Greater Nashua Mental Health, where I provided individual and couples counseling to individuals who were unable to be seen in the private sector due to complicating factors (treatment complexity, lack of insurance, etc.).
I’ve spent the last three years working as a therapist for the Department of Veterans Affairs, as the go-to counselor for couples counseling within the VISN 1 (New England) system. This has allowed me to become more familiar and experienced providing therapy to couples and individuals who have experienced significant trauma. These experiences have given me a robust training in evidenced based psychotherapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, etc.).
I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Greater Nashua YMCA, where I am passionate about promoting mental health awareness within this institution. I currently live in southern New Hampshire with my wife and our two (crazy) Australian shepherds.
I believe that leading a happy and fulfilling life is within everyone's grasp when they are enabled with the right tools. Regardless of what problems my clients might be struggling with (anxiety, depression, relationship issues, etc.), I strive to enable my clients to thoughtfully and strategically manage their lives so that they can feel confident and capable of solving any current or future problem they might encounter.
My goal is to teach my clients the skills they need to feel empowered taking on life's challenges. I utilize a combination of Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients accomplish their individual or relational goals.
Whether you are new to therapy, or are just looking for a change, I encourage anyone who feels as though they could use additional support to reach out and talk about their therapeutic needs.
